A Solution For Self-Inflicted Problems?
Got Problems?
Have you ever wondered if you might causing some of the problems you’re experiencing in your life?
Recently after numerous calls from a phone number that would not take return phone calls, I attempted to block the number. I went online and followed the instructions on the website to block that specific number. Two days later I was receiving emails from numerous clients telling me that my number was not taking calls at this time. I made a call to my phone company and removed the block. The next day I received a call from the infamous number once again … this time I was able to answer.
I will spare you the details … here’s the point … the number I was trying to block was the PHONE COMPANY trying to sell me more services! The very phone company I was looking to for a solution to my problem was actually the cause of the problem.
So why should this matter to you?
Think about your relationships both personal and professional … think about the way you interact with your clients, colleagues, employees, spouse, children, and friends. Have you ever wondered if some of the challenges or problems your having in your relationships was being caused or magnified by YOU?
We have become a society who traditionally looks outside of ourselves as the cause of our problems. Why? Because it is far easier to blame others for our lack of: success, happiness, wages, money, or happiness. We have slowly bought into the belief that other people (the president, congress, our boss, our spouse, our kids, etc.) are the reason for our failures, our pain, or our lack of success.
A Solution For Self-Inflicted Problems:
- Name one area of your life where you having a problem or are not getting the results you would like.
- Ask yourself: What actions am I taking or belief am I holding onto that is adding to this problem? (Hint: look at your limiting beliefs, lack of trust, misalignment of values, ego, selfishness, anything that is rooted in fear).
- What is one small step or action you can take today to reverse the downward spiral and move upward toward a more positive outcome (don’t need a giant step … just a small positive action)?
That said … tomorrow and for the next 7 days reply to question number 3 and watch what unfolds in your life!
